Georgia High School Graduate Wins New Chevrolet Cobalt for Perfect Attendance

 

Savannah Chevrolet dealers reward student for having 98% or better perfect attendance

 

Claxton, GA – May 27, 2010 – Demere Nesmith, Dealer Principal of Nesmith Chevrolet Buick GMC in Claxton announced today that James Johnson was awarded a brand new 2010 Chevy Cobalt on May 12, 2010 at Johnny Harris Restaurant & BBQ Sauce Company as part of the Chevy Drive for Perfection initiative. Johnson was ecstatic to receive the vehicle from local Savannah Chevy dealers. In order to win, Johnson had to achieve 98% or better perfect attendance during the 2009-2010 school year.

 

High school seniors from over 31 schools in 20 counties, including Johnson’s, were notified that they would be eligible to win a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt if they attended all 180 days of the school yearJohnson graduated from Jenkins High School this Spring. In addition to the new Cobalt, our own Tattnall Highschool senior, Riddhi Naik was awarded a Mac Laptop.

 

“The Chevy Drive for Perfection program seeks to reward and recognize students for achieving perfect attendance,” said Demere Nesmith, of Nesmith Chevrolet Buick Pontiac GMC. “It’s important for us to emphasize good attendance to help prepare young people for life after high school, whether they are seeking higher education or heading into the workforce.”

 

In the program’s second year in Georgia, the Chevy Drive for Perfection initiative is sponsored by the Savannah Chevrolet Dealers, in conjunction with local area school boards. “The local school boards are charged with the significant task of educating Georgia’s youth, and our local Chevy dealers are honored to support the school boards and high schools in our communities,” added Demere Nesmith.

 

“I was speechless when my name was called,” said Johnson upon winning his new Chevy. He picked up his new Cobalt from Coastal Chevrolet.

 

James Johnson was among 350 seniors from 31 high schools who completed the 180 day school year with 98% or better attendance. James Johnson’s name was chosen in a reverse drawing. All qualified seniors had to be present for the chance to win the 2010 Chevy Cobalt and the last name called won the vehicle.
